1979 Wayne Gretzky First NHL Goal Ticket Stub, PSA Good 2 - Highest Graded. Wayne Gretzky helped make hockey mainstream. The Great One entered the professional ranks as a teenager and set countless records through the years. His run in Edmonton resulted in four Stanley Cup victories. While he was celebrated from the moment he signed his first professional contract, not many had the foresight to keep mementos from his first NHL goal. On October 14, 1979, the rookie found the net for the first time as a member of the Edmonton Oilers during regular season action. This ticket stub witnessed the beginning of greatness. The offering has staining to the top and bottom white portion and is cut on the lower portion. A similar staining path is on the reverse. At the time of this writing this is only the second stub assessed by PSA and the highest graded of the two.
