In Paul Coffey's rookie season with the Edmonton Oilers, he posted 32 points in 74 games. Over his incredible career, Coffey recorded 396 goals, 1,135 assists and 1,531 points. The James Norris Memorial Trophy is awarded annually to the National Hockey League's top "defense player who demonstrates throughout the season the greatest all-round ability in the position." He won his first Norris Trophy in 1984-85 after scoring 37 goals and helping the Oilers win back-to-back Stanley Cups with an additional 12 goals in the playoffs.
